桜の木

庭に桜の木を植えたいと考えています。

カリフォルニアで見られる桜の品種は何が主流なのでしょうか?
また、どこで桜の木（できればある程度の大きさのもの）を入手できるかご存知ないでしょうか?

ネットで調べてみたのですが、６０センチ程度の苗木だったりカリフォルニアにはShipしないと書いてあったりで分かりませんでした。

桜を植えて2年目です。

私は3種類植えました。Pink Cloud, 染井吉野、白妙です。此方の気候用に掛け合わせたPink Cloud(ピンクの花）は割合と丈夫の様です。

Pink Cloud 3月3日開花

染井吉野 4月1日開花

白妙 今年も開花しませんでした。


苗木はSan Gabriel市(FWY 10をEastへ, Exit はSan Gabriel）にある、San Gabriel Nurseryで購入出来ます。
日本の果実の木も豊富に揃っています。私はつい買い過ぎて、我が家の狭い庭は裏も表も果樹園並みになりました。

私は昨年1月に購入しました。落葉しているので運搬が楽でした。桜の木は細いですが、長さは1.5ｍ位あります。因みに私が購入したサイズは各＄30位でした。

参考までに。
日本では、家に桜の木を植えるものではないと言われ、私もあきらめました。桜の木は学校や公園、神社仏閣、並木道に植えるものらしいです。普通は家に植えるものではないようです。
あくまでも日本の話です。理由は忘れました。
私も桜は好きなので、hanasunnyさんの気持ちはわかります。
