米国の地上デジタル放送

日本では既に始まっていて２０１１年までには従来の放送はうち切られるようですが、ここアメリカでも２００９年２月１７日までにデジタル化した HDTV に取って替わるそうです。

そこで気になるのは従来のアナログ地上波 NTSC 放送がその後どうなるかです。私の家ではデジタルケーブルなので直接の影響はないのですが、どなたか詳しい情報をご存知の方はいますか。
