The process by which children acquire English is the same as in Japanese.
Babies select and memorize information that is highly relevant to them from among the countless "sounds" that exist around them.
In Japanese, "mama", "papa", "mamma", "nenne", etc. are the first sounds that babies learn.
The same is true of English: the more relevant words （ and sounds ） to the child, the more likely they are to be retained in memory.
The easiest way to make it stick is to sing it.
Songs can be memorized by the brain without the child having to "try" to remember them.
At TLC for Kids, we use songs as "triggers". A trigger is a "memory trigger".
Sometimes hearing a "song" can trigger an old memory. To make English stick with your child, you can increase the number of triggers with songs.
