質問があります。

いきなりですが、質問があります。
今、こちらで仕事を探しているものです。（合法的に）
先日、会社で面接を受けて、最後に１週間から２週間で返事をするといわれて、その会社を去りました。
それから２週間が経ちました。

アメリカで働くのは初めてなので、よくわからないのですが、
アメリカでは不採用の場合は連絡がないのでしょうか？
それと、こちらから、採用か不採用の返事の催促をしても失礼ではないのでしょうか？
面接を受けた会社から返事を待っている間は、就職活動が出来ず、
不採用なら不採用でそういうふうに言われた方が、次を探せるのですけど、
返事がないので、動きようがありません。不安な日々が続いています。

もし、わかる人がいたら教えてください。
お願いします。

ちなみに、その会社は日系の会社です。
