I am currently living in LA accompanying my husband on an overseas assignment. The expiration date is until this summer or next summer, but with the recent Corona fiasco, I am prepared to be ordered to return home suddenly at any time.

I would like to be as prepared as possible in case that should that happen. The thing I am most worried about is getting rid of the furniture.
If I had the time, I would sell or give it to someone else, but I probably don't have that luxury in terms of time, so I would like to ask some vendor to pick it up if possible.

As for questions,
1 ） Is there a company that can come to my house to pick it up ？ （ Would it be a recycling company ）
If you know, could you give me specific company names and such? I would be very grateful.
It would be very reassuring if the company can speak Japanese.

2 ） I think large items such as dining room tables and beds need to be dismantled. We cannot bring it in.

The address is in the area of Los Angeles 90024.

Furniture includes bed, dining table ＆ chairs, TV board, storage shelves, computer table.
Almost all of them were purchased at IKEA. （ Total cost is just under 200,000 yen ・ ・ ・ ）

I found out something when I compared the recent Japanese-Japanese markets. Nijya Market used to be more expensive than other Japanese markets, but nowadays Nijya has many items on sale. And they also have snacks that are not available in other markets. For example, thin rice crackers with calcium or small fish, which are good for bones. Nijya's special fried white fish sandwiches and croquette bread are also cheap and delicious. Imagawa-yaki and taiyaki are also inexpensive and filled with anko (a small fish paste). The bento corner at Nijya Torus is popular and is crowded around lunchtime. They also pack ice in bags for you to take home, which is a big help. I go to Nijiya Market more often than anywhere else now.

I just recently heard that restaurant owners and managers are not allowed to take tips, but
I was told that owner-chefs are allowed to take tips.

The other day I inquired about ordering products from a fish shop introduced by an acquaintance and was refused because it was out of my route.

The acquaintance's house is only 5 minutes away from ours. ？
To be honest, I felt quite uncomfortable, but I don't know if they are not doing this service now during pandemic or if they don't deliver to my area because the conditions for new customers are more strict, but I asked my acquaintance to combine my order with his and he said they could deliver the next day.

I will take the order as is because of my acquaintance, but honestly I am so angry that I want to cancel it.

The delivery fee is $5, which is very reasonable, so I was planning to order a lot and tip a lot, so I was disappointed with the saltiness of the service.

I guess it's just the way we sell our products. It's so unreasonable that I'm really curious if it's like this for other people.

Hello. I am currently living in a boarding house （ 1864 Cordova street ） near Washington Blvd. near Koreatown.
The owner （ landlord ） of this place has recently changed and it is now managed by "ALTMAN APARTMENTS".

Its owner （ 1864 CORDOVA STREET,LLC ） has sent an eviction notis through the court.
I don't understand what's going on, I pay rent every month and I didn't do anything wrong.

The house is predominantly Latino American and it seems that many other residents have been sent similar notices.
So I consulted through a place called StayHousedLA, and a lawyer who works for me as a volunteer told me that such notices are invalid.

Then the owner now gave me a document saying that he would pay me $1500 to agree to evict me.
Apparently, the owner wants to demolish the entire house and rebuild it into a new building and start running it again, and he wants to evict us for that.

The lawyer advised us that we should not agree to the amount offered because it is too cheap.
This lawyer does a good job of nullifying my appearance in court.

But if the owner offers me an even higher amount, I wonder what I should do.
So far, no residents seem to be willing to agree to the amount and move out, but I am afraid that if other residents start moving out, I will have to do the same.

Is this kind of arrogance acceptable ？ Even if I were to agree to move, what amount do you think I should agree to ？
My current rent is very cheap （ less than $450 per month ） and I have no other options If I were to find a place to move to, I don't think it would be that easy to find a place in the Los Angeles area with a cheaper rent than I have now.
I would appreciate your advice on how to handle this situation in the future.
