ブッシュからの税金還元：J1ビザの場合

今年はブッシュからのお小遣いということで、
Stimulus packageという制度で税金が還元されていますが、J1ビザの場合は対象にならないのでしょうか？

Lビザで働いていた友人は$600、F1ビザの友人は$300のチェックが送られてきたようですが、J1の私にはまだ届いていません。

どなたか詳しい方、また同じくJ1の方で情報をお持ちの方は教えていただけますと幸いです。よろしくお願いします。

J ビザがどういうものか知りませんが、今回の税金還元は働ける正規な SSN を持っている人で、正規に税金を払っている人のみ払われます。

Stimulus で検索し政府のサイトに行けばもらえる条件が詳しく書かれています。

I don't know what the "J Visa" either but it's not based on your visa status. You are eligible if you paid tax in 2007 and filed tax return for 2007 by April 15. If you did not file your tax by April 15, then you don't get this check.

The schedule was based on how you paid (or received refund) tax for 2007. If you paid via EFT (or received refund via EFT) you should receive the stimulus check before the people who paid their tax by check (or received refund by check).
Then it's based on last 2 digits on your social security number.
If last 2 digits of your social is higher number, you get the check later.
But I believe it was supposed to be done by middle of July or end of July so you might better to check IRS website for exact schedule.
It seems IRS has been making many errors for this process. I read an article on the news and I actually got 2 $600 deposits to my account. They pulled back one deposit later, though. If anybody received more amount than it should be, you MUST return it to IRS. If you spent it, it would be a crime even it was their error.
If you have a valid social and filed 2007 tax return, I recommend to contact IRS.

ビザの種類に限らず、２００７年度の税金を申告している人。その申告にSSNを使った人がもらえる仕組みです。SSNではなくてTaxIDを使った場合は対象外です。

＃４の追加です。TaxIDを使って申告した場合ですが、夫婦でジョイントの申告をした場合、夫婦のどちらかがTaxID,もう一方がSSNで申告したとすると、二人とも還元はもらえないです。
