After further research on Global Entry, I found out that it is not so much about entry as it is about the smooth entry of foreign travelers into the U.S., and that it has nothing to do with me as a U.S. citizen. Therefore, I will only renew my current TSA PreCheck which is $15 cheaper.



More importantly, I would like them to do something about the long lines when entering Japan. I wonder if they could create something like Global Entry in Japan. Currently, foreign nationals can only enter Japan using the kiosk terminal for Japanese nationals at Japanese airports if they have a long-term stay permit in Japan, which we tourists are not eligible for. Well, I guess those long lines won't disappear until the Olympics are over and the inbound boom dies down. I'm not sure if I can survive until then. ^^;

how many times a year do you use that ？ I can understand if you go back and forth a lot for business, but you are just a tourist ？
it's not like it makes a 30 minute difference whether you have it or not
and it's faster to get in. And even if you get in quickly, you have to wait for your luggage.
I'm going on and on with this stupid argument.

Well, I was prepared for this, but we went in the middle of the rainy season, and only one day out of the 12-day walking pilgrimage was sunny.

Even so, we decided to stop rushing to visit as many temples as possible on this third tour, and decided to visit all of the 20 sacred sites on Shikoku, as well as the 36 Fudo sacred sites on Shikoku. Therefore, I decided to stop at Hiyorisa, a town made famous by the NHK morning drama "Wellcome" starring Kana Kurashina, far before the border with Tokushima Prefecture, where I could go from Cape Muroto in Kochi Prefecture to the end of the tour in 12 days. This time we met two pit vipers and three toads. I am not sure if it was a pit viper or not because of its unique body pattern, but when I poked it in the tail with my cane as it was running away, it turned toward me and showed its mouth and tongue, scaring me in the opposite direction.

I wear a rain poncho when I walk in the rain, so it gets very steamy inside, especially when climbing mountains.
