Last month, I used the Little Tokyo Village parking lot （ the one with the entrance facing San Pedro ）.
I was told that I would receive 4 validations from the bank and that they would be valid all day, but after running a few errands, I returned to my car and headed for the exit in probably less than 2 hours.

The problem is this exit checkout machine.

First, it asked me to put in a validation, so I did. It didn't look like a high-tech machine that would allow me to put several tickets on top of each other, so I put in only one of the four tickets.
Next, it asks me to put in a ticket. I did. I did so ＄ It displayed 9 payments.
There is no button to cancel and no response when I press the button to call an attendant.
In the meantime, the ticket was reversed and returned, but one validation was taken away.
I called the number printed on the ticket and was told to move to the next lane, which was very difficult for me because it was narrow, curved, and uphill. I was finally released after having that thing lifted.

Now, this is a long explanation, but what is the correct way to pay if there are multiple validation cards in the machine here ？

I vaguely remember many years ago, when I tried to pay in advance at the machine on the first floor, the machine was also I remember that the machine was very difficult to use and it was not easy to use. I had assumed that the pre-payment system itself no longer existed, since the machine was no longer there. I later found out that the machine is still in another location.

I have a son who is currently in 6th grade.
He started middle school in September.

We thought he is still a child, but we found a history of him searching adult videos on his I Pad.

End of life, but which is better ？

I've heard that in the U.S. it's hard to have that kind of money, that you need more than $1 million over 10 years to be miserable in a nursing home. So if you move in when you are in your 70s and live to be 90, you would need $2 million.
On the other hand, in Japan, if you have 50 million yen for 10 years, they will take care of you in a decent place. 100 million yen for 20 years.

The current view is to be based in the U.S. until you have some freedom to move around, and then sell to Japan.

The food would be better than the US facility, and since all the kids are back in Japan, they would come to see us once in a while.
What do you all think?

I retired at 55. I will receive a pension from Japan starting next month and from the U.S. next year I will receive a pension from the U.S. I am 61 years old.
90% of my assets are in the US. I have a residence in Japan and live in both.

What are your candid thoughts?

The above are not so common in Japan, but here in LA, the above 3 are always seen at least once a day. I come across the above three at least once a day here in LA, it's so frequent, it's crazy!
