I-20, I-94のことについて

３ヶ月ほど前アメリカ国外に出たのですが、戻ってくる際にＩ−２０を持ってないことに気づきました。immigrationでＩ−９４をはがされて、オリジナルのＩ−２０を送るようにいわれました。３ヶ月たつのですが、immigrationからはまだ連絡はありません。学校のカウンセラーには審査に最低３ヶ月以上はかかると思うけれど、なんとも言えないという風にいわれたのですが、帰国の予定があるのでどうしたらいいかと悩んでいます。どなたかこの件に関してご存知の方いらっしゃいましたら教えてください。よろしくお願いします。
