中古車を日本からアメリカに輸送したい

日本からアメリカに車を輸送したことがある方に質問です。個人手続きをすべてやろうと思っていますが、陸運局で抹消登録する時点から、海上運賃、通関費用、検査費などなどアメリカに着くまで、だいたいどれくらいの費用がかかるのでしょうか。まったくの素人で、手続きの流れなどがいまいちわかりません。車は左ハンドルの欧州車です（中古車）。どなたかアドバイスお願いいたします。

#4サンが言うとおりですね。
Vin#がないのでしたらやめた方がいいです。
正確にはどんな車でも登録可能ですが、莫大な費用と時間が掛かります。

トピ主さん、
この手の書類は専門家に任せるのが良いあちこち振り回されて時間の無駄！自分でやって安くなっても業者にやってもらってもそんなに変わらないよ。それどころか高くつくケースだってあるから、幾つかの輸出入業者にあたって決めた方が良いぜ。

ご丁寧な回答をありがとうございました！皆さんのアドバイスを読み、また自分でも調べたりしましたが、おっしゃるとおりこれは専門の会社に任せるほうがいいという結論に至りました。早速、いくつかあたって比較してみたいと思います。

基本的にOBDIIが付いている車かSmog Checkが必要のない年式の車なら登録は可能です。 但し米国のNHTSAの安全基準テストに合格していない車の場合は、実車を使用した衝突試験等を受けなければいけないので登録されていない車種を個人で持ち込むのは費用がかかりすぎるので現実的ではありませんが、NHTSAのリスト(http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/elig050108.pdf)に載っている車両であれば個人輸入でも簡単に登録出来ますよ。
NHTSAリストに載っていない車でも、1年間限定ですが日本の自分名義の車を簡単にDMVで登録する方法がありますし、合法ではありませんが罰則規定の無い方法でOBDIIの無い車両を登録する事も可能です（この場合はCA州外での登録になります）。
