あまりに初歩的な質問かもしれないのですが…。
TVを見るには、タイム○ーナーなどのケーブルを契約しないと見られないのでしょうか?
ローカルTVが見られれば充分なのですが…。
ご存知の方、アドバイスお願いします。

地上波が受信できるエリアにお住まいでしたら、ケーブルは不要です。

ローカルTVだけでよいならば、場所によっては、今までの室内アンテナで見られます。
但し、テレビ自体がアナログTVならば、デジタルTVコンバーターが必要です。（50-70ドル前後）
最近のデジタルTVをお持ちならば、TVコンバーターは不要です。
今までの室内アンテナで見られない場合、アンプつきのデジタル用アンテナ（amplified Digital Antenna）があったほうがよいですね。（20-50ドル前後）
アンテナが屋根などにある屋外用の場合は、コンバーターさえあれば、通常は今までどおり見られると思います。
