日本でGmailにログインする方法を教えてください（除く携帯使用）

一時帰国の際は携帯電話でログインしてましたが、今回は携帯を解約して本帰国のため、本人確認のアラートが携帯で受け取れません。
帰国後、携帯電話なしでPCからGmailにログインするには 皆さんどうされてますか？

PCのブラウザからGmailのログイン画面に行って、ユーザー名とパスワードを入れてログインできませんか？
もしアラートが受け取れないことが心配なのであれば、右上の歯車（設定）からログインとセキュリティに行って、アカウント復元オプションにGmail以外のメアド（yahooその他）を設定しておけばいいのではないでしょうか。

前回、帰国したときは ユーザー名とパスワードを入れても 本人確認が必要と表示された記憶があります。
Gmail以外のメアド（yahooその他）を設定しておけばいいのですね。
早速設定しました。

gmail.com はメールを開く媒体がどんなものであれ、世界中どこであれ、メールアドレスとパスワードがあればアクセスできると認識していますが間違っていますか。
私はこちら(LA/USA)で PC とスマホの両器具とも何の特別な設定もなしにアクセスできていますし、日本へ行った時もホテルの PC で支障もなしに開けられます。日本国内で日本の電話番号のスマホでは開いたことはありませんが、Skype だったか FaceBook だったか、これらを日本に着いてこちらから持って行ったスマホで開けようとしたら端末ではなくこれらのアプリ自体が立ち上げるごとにその時に滞在している国をチェックする機能があって、「別な国で立ち上がったが本来のユーザーが使ったのか」のかの注意が出てきました。
