I was in my second or third year of college or so, and I was going to school on the Chuo Line, so I got off at Sendagaya Station the day of the marathon competition and waited around Tsuda College of English because the street in front of me was the course.

The first person who passed in front of me was Abebe. As expected. A few minutes later came Enya, a player from the Self-Defense Forces. There was already a big gap between him and Abebe.

According to the reputation before the Olympics, Tsuburaya was expected to be very close to Abebe, but when it was over, he was only in second place by a large margin.

Today, one of the LA Fitness classes for the elderly, which is like an aerobics class in Japan, had its Christmas party at the Outback Steakhouse a few doors down.

Most of the participants were old white women. I was the only Japanese immigrant. They talk a lot. I join in when there is some commonality in topics, but most of the time, they are the only ones who talk.

This class is arranged with melodies of popular songs from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Most of the songs are ones I used to listen to myself, so it's easy to get along with and my body moves well. It is easy to ride and moves well.
