It is tax return season. I would like to ask for your wisdom as to what kind of tax saving measures you are taking.
Almost all of my income is from my corporate job.

I have a 401k that is maxed out.
IRAs could not be deposited due to income limits.
My children's college tuition was also not deductible due to income limits.

Even if I don't make it to this year's tax return, I'd be very grateful for the help for next year.
- do freelance work and deduct expenses
- create an LLC and use income from salaried work to fund the business

I am currently considering returning to Japan. I know that I can return to Japan and still receive Social Security in Japan after retiring from the US, but what will happen to my permanent residency?

1 ． Can I still receive Social Security in Japan even if I give up my permanent residence?
2 ． If I want to keep my Permanent Resident status, do I have to return ？ to the US once a year?
3 ． If I stay in Japan without doing anything, will I automatically lose my permanent resident status?
4 ． I have heard that the permanent resident status remains the same unless I voluntarily renounce it, but
if I eventually come back here with the permanent resident status after 5 or 10 years （ if I am still alive and well ） can I come back
with that permanent resident status? Can I come back with that permanent residency 。。。。

I am considering returning to Japan to care for my parents, but after they pass away, if I am still healthy, I would like to come back to the US. I would like to receive the pension in Japan, but I am wondering what will happen to my permanent residence after that... I have so many questions. If anyone knows anything about this, I would appreciate it if you could tell me.

I live in a rental apartment in Torrance.
My landlord has notified me of a price increase starting with next month's payment, 11 months after last year's increase.
I looked on Google and it says the rent increase is ONCE EVERY-12-months, is this correct?

We are looking to dispose of a king size mattress.
We have considered selling it as it is almost unused, but we are unable to sell it and donations are currently not possible due to Corona.

We are an internationally married couple, my husband is American and I am Japanese. We are currently living in Japan. At the time of our marriage, I received a 2-year U.S. green card with my husband's spousal sponsorship and spent time working locally in the U.S.
In the fall of 2019, due to family circumstances in Japan, we are moving to Japan as a married couple, at which time we have also submitted an I-131 (travel document / re-entry permit)to the USCIS. both the I-131 and the green card expire in March 2021. Due to the sudden outbreak of the corona disaster, neither the couple has been outside of Japan since the fall of 2019. We are now considering returning to the U.S. for a week in June 2022, partly because Japan has loosened its water border control regulations and partly because we have already taken our third dose of corona vaccine in Japan. However, our base of living is in Japan, and we are not considering living in the U.S. again at this time. So, my question is how to enter the US.

① Should I get an ESTA to enter the U.S. this time ？
② If so, will there be any trouble at U.S. customs ？ I would like to prove that my return to the U.S. is only for one week and my home base is Japan. （ Should I prepare, for example, a certificate of employment in English in Japan ）? We are not considering it at this time. Therefore, my husband and I continue to make the same annual US tax return that we have every year as a married couple jointly, even after the GC expires. Is this the right thing to do if I am a GC holder living abroad and do not want to waive my GC rights ？ and if there are any other good measures to take, please let me know.

I am Self Employed and received unemployment insurance from the PUA.
Like numerous others, I received a Notice and appeal form requesting a refund.

I am an individual fiduciary who rents equipment in the store. I probably do not have a formal outsourcing agreement with the store
and I do not have a business license myself.

I filed a 1099-MISC last month and received a Notice requesting a refund with no effect.

How did all of you who are eligible respond ？
and what documents did you submit?
