・ Japanese family register → I have a marriage notation but chose to keep my maiden name → I thought my husband's name would be written in katakana
・ Passport → maiden name ＋ （ husband's name ） ＋ Name and Name and
・ Green Card → Surname

Nice to meet you. In my case, it is the opposite of the Lord's. I have kept my maiden name in Japan and changed it to my husband's last name in the U.S.
The last name on my passport and green card are different, but I buy airline tickets every time with the name on my passport and have no problems.
By the way, in the past I have never been pointed out that my name is different with regard to airline tickets, but
the other day I tried to switch to a driver's license with ID at the DMV and was unable to create it because my name was different.

更新は基本、アメリカ国内でとなっていますが、オンラインで申請が出来るということは、日本から申請しても移民局は分からないということでしょうか。そしてもし指紋採取となったときは渡米するしかないと思いますが。。。。
住所もアメリカにあり、子供たちもそこに住んでいます。親の具合が悪く、私だけが現在日本にいます。永住権はまだ切れていません。パスポートのコピーも申請時には提出しなくて良いようなので、これだと日本からオンラインで申請しても、もしかしたらカードが1ヵ月くらいで届くのでしょうか？？？それともそれは無理な考えでしょうか。
出来る限り親のそばにいてあげたく、11月末に永住権が切れるのでどうしようか悩んでおります。

Well, this is totally unrelated to this topic, but my wife and I have lived in San Fernando Vally, about an hour drive north of Gardena/Torrance, for over 50 years. There are only two elderly Nikkei couples who speak almost no Japanese.

As for the main topic, "I want to learn about American food," there is a TV channel called KCET where I think I saw a program about menus that are commonly eaten in the US. It was a long time ago. Before that, what is "American food"? Hamburgers, beef steaks, beef stew, pork chops, fried chicken, are the only things that come to mind. There is a Norms Restaurant in Gardena/Torrance, isn't there? When I came here 50 years ago, I was single and used to go to Norms Restaurant often. At that time, I could eat anything I wanted as long as I was hungry. If you are a good cook, you know how to cook just by looking at the menu. I don't drink alcohol and I have a sweet tooth, so I often eat Pan Cake and French Toast. Sorry for getting personal.
