違いは何？

国際結婚によるグリーンカード申請で、「弁護士」に頼むのと「イミグレーション　サービス」に頼むとの、どの程度の違いがあるのでしょうか？イミグレーションサービスの場合、弁護士に頼むよりもだいぶ値段が違うのですが、やって頂ける内容など、詳しいことを知っている方がいたらぜひ教えてください。お願いします。

弁護士に頼むと面接の時も同席してくれたり、何から何までやってもらえるけど、金額がかなり掛かります。イミグレーションサービスの場合事務所に行って必要事項を書類にしてもらい、自分で郵送面接も連絡が入れば自分達だけで出向いて面接します。問題は何処まで自分で出来るか？少しは英語が出来れば弁護士に頼まなくても結構自分達で出来るもんですよ、ちなみに私の友達は学校卒業して同時に結婚しましたが、自分で書類から全部やってしまったそうですよ。私はイミグレーションサービスを利用しました。

弁護士は面接に着いて来てくれます。日本人スタッフがいれば日本語の書類を英訳してくれます。

「イミグレーション　サービス」に頼むのは、California州で禁止そうですよ。

必ず弁護士に頼むのですよ。

Just go to the Federal Building and apply for I551(green card). Going to a lawyer for this would cost you alot and if you do it by yourself it would cost you about $1,000. As long as you are United States Citizen and sincere about getting married for legal reason, you shouldn't have any problem. You may think having a lawyer submit your application is a sure thing, but it's not. It doesn't make any difference who submits it.

＃７さんがおっしゃっているように、グリーンカードの申請は弁護士を雇ったりイミグレーションサービスを通さなくても自分で申請できます。わたしは自分で申請しましたが（書類を出すことですでに受領費などのお金がかかりますから）お金の節約につながってよかったと思っています。
