My son is 50 years old, but he was born and raised here.

He has friends in the construction industry, and when we wanted to fix a part of our house,

he would bring someone from that industry to help us.

Also, once when we needed a painter, the house next door had a total exterior paint job done and

the workmanship was so-so that we asked them to do it for us too.

After all, we are afraid to ask a stranger, including Japanese-American relations, if we do not have some kind of reference.

Not necessarily.
I hear that if they advertise, they charge more for the work they do, and they charge more even if the work is not done properly.

If the quality is good without advertisement like Chateraise, it will be advertised by word of mouth of customers. The price is reasonable because they don't have to pay for advertisement.

I hear that if you pay for advertising, you get a fee on top of that, and even if you do a reasonable job, you get a fee as well.

Whether or not the work is done properly, any advertising costs are ultimately borne by the customer. If it's a huge advertising fee, like putting it on TV, they're probably unknowingly burdened with hundreds or thousands of dollars in advertising fees for remodeling-type jobs with high unit costs. There are a few people like Showa-era ototsuan who don't understand anything and are deceived.

Thank you all. As Baikinman said, I have seen houses nearby that have been constructed and thought they were nice. There was a house in my neighborhood that had been completely renovated, outside and inside, almost everything except the frame.

Even in the middle of construction, until the curtains went in, you could somewhat see the inside from the outside （ and the entrance ＆ from the street side and the living room with kitchen was visible just by walking around normally. ）
Every time I walked past there （ I thought, "The construction company here might be polite. ） I thought to myself.　
Before → After was surprisingly different. （ Including the exterior ）

However, it was a private contractor, or they spent a lot of time.　
It seemed to be a freshly purchased renovation or had a separate residence, so I am sure the long term would not have been a problem.

I sometimes wondered if it would be easy to visit the house and inquire about the construction company if the need arose.
I thought it would be very rude and did not take action.　　I probably won't do it in the future.　

I wish my neighbors would do it ＝.　） I am hoping that the neighbors who have been in contact with us will be able to do it .
