And my current house and the house before that had a heated pool that I took care of for a total of over 20 years. However, both houses have gas heaters, so I don't know anything about electricity or anything related to it. In addition, the underground pipe from the gas meter to the heater in the current house is a galvanized iron pipe, and gas leaks from the rusty middle of the pipe, so we don't use the gas heater at all.

As for the gas usage in our previous house, the cost of gas was about $30 a month when we did not use the pool heater, but when we used the heater two or three times a month, the cost went up to about $150 a month. The cost of electricity is not so high as the cost of gas for the same amount of heat, and I think the cost of electricity is not ridiculous.
