In the fall of 2023, I was at a large intersection and the left turn signal was on,
the light went out before the intersection and the light in front of me turned green,
I entered the intersection a short distance and the red light was on.

A little further into the intersection I saw that the left turn signal was red.
I stopped and backed up to the crosswalk since there were no cars behind me.

I can't believe I didn't know what color the left turn signal was until I got inside the intersection.

I think you're wrong ？
Poor maintenance should be the same violation as jaywalking or something else, license will be deducted, no Dismiss unless you fight it in court
What you're saying is that to continue driving that car, after fixing the fault, you have to go to CHP to confirm it's fixed is required
license and car are not the same thing

If you get a ticket for a poorly maintained car with a lamp out or something, fixing it won't make it a Dismiss
License and car are different If you want to drive that car, fix it and go to CHP, DMV and get it checked. Of course
