Credit card payments no longer require swiping the card through the slot next to the card terminal at the store. Now it is called "Tap", and the data transmission is done by simply holding the card over the terminal screen for a few seconds.

This is the same method used in Japan with the mobile wallet. Therefore, I only pay bills by check, and my check address is still the same as my home address that I had more than 10 years ago. I still have a number of checks that I don't use. Also, all payments to LADWP, credit card companies, and even cell phone companies are Auto Pay, which means that the other party will deduct the amount from my bank on the payment date by computer on their own.

The only things that still go off the check are the annual auto&fire insurance and the Property Tax that I pay to the County.

Thank you. I miss it.
I still have the Thomas Guide from that time as a treasured keepsake. In those days, I used to flip through the paper to find places, or just go there by memory because the roads in L.A. are so easy without research.
The parking lot at Santa Monica Mall was free for the first 3 hours, but I wonder how it is now...

Santa Monica Bus, Big Blue ？ Something's stopped taking cash. They don't accept anything but tap cards.
I wonder if young people today don't know how to use cash ？.

Two kids （ both college students ） don't like cash ～ and
don't want to pay cash. Even bills for parents come in Venmo （ Sweat ）
State payments and DMV are also paid by card. Even when I buy stamps at the post office, I pay
with my card. Car fines are also paid by card.
Everything is done by card ・ Even if you open a bank account, you only get a checkbook with about 10 checks
because it's all by card.
The bank statement is also paperless, they don't send you anything.
Everything is managed online.
