I don't know about now, but most of the senior officers of the Self Defense Forces in Japan at that time were graduates of the National Defense Academy, but there was a unique person named Mr. Sasajima who was a graduate of Keio University and became a 3-sa (Major in the old days) of the Ground Self-Defense Force. He joined the U.S. Army and mastered guerrilla warfare techniques including parachute descent.

Skydiving was already a popular sport in the U.S. at that time, and when he was in the Narashino Airborne Corps in Chiba Prefecture, a diving club was formed by asking university students, who were probably graduates of famous private universities. When I saw the application for membership, I thought that even a novice like me could do it, and that my personality would change a little if I could pull off such a daring feat. As for the cost, the main expense was to charter a small Cessna as a club, and it was possible to collect about 1,000 yen plus from each member on the day of the flight. This was a lot of money in those days when a bowl of ramen was only 100 yen or so, but it was not often enough to make it a monthly event, so we were able to make it work.

If you hang on and write and get excited
advertisers think it's profitable to advertise.

If advertisers start running away like they do on Twitter,
charging membership fees to those who use it will have a more negative impact.
