As all airlines are changing their capacity to meet the demand trend, it is not limited to Delta. However, I can say that Delta has to concentrate on Haneda since there are no direct flights between LAX and NRT, and I think that they will be allocating aircraft that can accommodate more passengers for the next two years.


I was thinking about A350, but the fare is about $1,210. Well, I guess that is the market price during the peak season, but I checked ANA's Narita flight and it was $931 at 110 yen to the dollar. Well, with such a big difference, it makes my mind waver to choose ANA. However, it will be around February or March next year at the earliest when I actually make the reservation and purchase the ticket, so I wonder how the market price will change.

They change their aircrafts frequently, so there is no need to be happy or sad about it ^^;

However, when I flew between NRT and DTW on A350 this summer, it was quite comfortable. The big screen and full-flat private cabin didn't tire me out too much even after 13 hours of riding.

Mr. DL, you must be above the clouds, we common people can't fly that class. I am the one who looks for the cheapest fare no matter how cramped the seat is and proudly fly on it.


On a different note, in #607 I mentioned that ANA's fare was $931, but this was the fare I found on ANA's Japanese site, and since I registered my passport information, I was relegated to the foreign site and had to pay a higher price than the Japanese site fare this June. However, when I checked the English site for next July's flight to Narita, I found $908 cheaper than the above. But I guess this price will be getting higher and higher as the days go by, so if you want this price, you may have to decide your schedule 8 months in advance and buy now.

I heard that ANA business class seats are also fully flat. My wife's friend, who is 80 years old ＋ and who asks for a wheelchair when she boards, said she has no trouble flying to Haneda in this class.

Just a round trip on something like Delta One, you could pay enough to go to Japan on Economy, stay in a hotel, eat and drink, and travel for a week.
