As I have mentioned before, I intend to use my one-week "Rail Road Pass" while my body is still able to travel as far as JR rails will take me, from Wakkanai Station at the northernmost point of the Hokkaido Soya Main Line, to East Nemuro Station on the easternmost Nemuro Main Line, back to Sasebo Station on the westernmost Sasebo Line ・, and Nishioiyama Station on the southernmost Sukumo Makurazaki Line. I intend to run all the way to Nishi-Oyama Station on the Sukumo Makurazaki Line.

However, it takes a long time to get to Kyushu because the fastest Shinkansen "Nozomi" is not available, but the "Nozomi" below it, and there are few limited expresses to the east end of Hokkaido, or rather, only 2 or 3 limited expresses a day on the Nemuro Main Line, and there are no limited expresses between Nemuro ・ Wakkanai and Abashiri Station. It would take 3 or 4 days just to travel within Hokkaido. If this happens, the westernmost station, Sasebo Station, may be given up and Makurazaki Station may be used for both the south and west sides of the island. In any case, we can no longer say that we will run the "Gono Line" between Akita and Aomori.

As usual, I have a tremendous amount of time on my hands, so I will now push forward with my plan to circumnavigate Japan on the aforementioned JR lines. I have so far planned to return to Makurazaki Station, which combines the Gono Line around Akita-Aomori and Japan's most southwestern tip into one, but I would like to consider whether I can go to Sasebo Station, the most western point. What do you refer to when planning a trip to Japan by train?

I always use Yahoo Japan's "Route Information （ Transfer Guide ・ Timetable ・ Route Map ）". When using the Shinkansen west of Tokyo, the fastest "Nozomi" is not available, so the "Hikari" is used from Shin-Osaka to Okayama, and the "Sakura" is used west of that. However, Yahoo route information does not allow me to select "Hikari" or "Sakura" even if I want to go to the westernmost Sasebo station, for example. There is no "Shinkansen bullet train stop at each station" or "Hikari" or "Sakura" designation" in the "Conditions. You can specify "via" stations, so you have to look for stations where "Nozomi" does not stop, but other stations do.

I am very worried about which station will be the switching station for "Hikari"/"Sakura" when I take the Hokkaido Shinkansen back to Tokyo and immediately change to the westbound slow Shinkansen, for example, if I designate Sasebo station as the last station. According to my research so far, Shin-Kobe station seems to be a good choice. Today, I will pursue this issue.
