When I was in elementary school, someone over the age of 18 took us

to the Toei movie theater where there was a smelly dub called "Dobukatsu" in front. In those days, the leading actors were Kanjuro Arashi in "Kurama Tengu",

Kinnosuke Nakamura, Chiyosuke Azuma, Chizuru Takachiho, etc. in "Satomi Hakkenden", and I used to go to those "dobukatsu".

I also used to go to a movie theater in front of the station that specialized in "Daiei Eiga" and other movies,

I forget the name of the star of the movie, but it was a detective movie called "Kaijin Nijumenso". Oh, there was also "The Bronze Fiend".

Television was a thing of the past (radio was a vacuum tube), and the only entertainment we had was going to the cinema.

In elementary school, the school took all students in the fourth grade and above to the movie theater in town.

For free, of course. One of the movies was titled "Cotin's Whistle", I think, which I also saw.

It was about the Ainu people and their suffering because they were not treated as Japanese.
