BE PREPARED Download the myTorranceCA App You can report downed trees, damaged signs, potholes ,and more on the myTorranceCA app. DOWNLOAD OUR APP   WHAT'S NEW     Homeowners' Tax Exemption Torrance residents, you may be eligible to qualify for the Homeowners’ Exemption (HOX) Program, which reduces your property's taxable assessed value by $7,000. Homeowners need only apply once to receive these savings each year. The deadline to apply is today! Homeowners can apply after the February 15 deadline for a prorated amount of savings. LEARN MORE   Public Works Route Reviews In accordance with SB 1383 regulations, the City and its contractors will conduct random visual audits of curbside refuse, recycling, and organics carts. These audits will allow us to provide real-time, actionable feedback through cart tags on audited carts. Importantly, these inspections are purely educational, and NO enforcement actions will be taken. The insights gained from these route reviews will assist us in developing educational outreach material aimed at improving proper recycling practices. Dozens of people watched the Lion Dance at the Del Amo Fashion Center and families played games, dang songs, and enjoyed learning about Chinese culture at NiHao Chinese School located in Torrance. GET DISCOUNT   February 17 Western Museum of Flight Celebrity Lecture Join us for an exciting lecture about the world's only dedicated astronomical research aircraft, SOFIA. NASA research pilot, Colonel O'Mara, will teach us all about this magnificent machine that collects data across the entire range on the electromagnetic spectrum. This lecture is free for members of the Western Museum of Flight and $15 for non-members. JOIN THE LECTURE   February 18 DINO-LIGHT What happens when a famous scientist brings a friendly dinosaur to life? You can find out at Dino-Light! This performance received the Jim Henson Foundation Grant for being an innovative work of contemporary puppet theater. Don't miss the lights, puppetry, and amazing story. BUY TICKETS   February 19 Presidents' Day City Hall and all Torrance Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, February 19th in observance of Presidents' Day. Monday refuse and recycling will be collected on Tuesday, February 20th. There will be no street sweeping on Monday.
