We are pleased to announce that we will restart our activities after a recharging period during the pandemic. As the first step, we will hold a lecture by a Japanese woman who has been active in California. We are sure that you will hear many interesting stories about the challenges she faced in getting miso and fermented foods accepted in the U.S., and how she plans to expand her activities in the future.
We will also have refreshments outside in the hall, so please come and enjoy the conversation with the participants. We will also have a gift for those who leave ( Please forgive us if there are too many people ) as it is on a first-come, first-served basis.

[About the Speaker]

"Omiso ( Omiso ® ︎ ) and America - on Japan-US exchange through Japanese fermented foods"
●Background : Born in Hyogo Prefecture. After working for several industrial manufacturers in Japan and working as an interpreter ・ and translator in Japan, the Middle East, and Europe, she moved to LA in 2011 when she got married. While continuing to work as an interpreter for a Japanese compressor manufacturer ・, she became fascinated by the craft beer culture in the US and became interested in making fermented foods. While beginning fermentation of soy sauce and miso at home, he also trained at miso breweries and koji rooms in Japan and visited miso and soy sauce breweries across the country to accumulate knowledge and experience, which led him to his passion to bring delicious miso to the tables of all Americans. In 2018, he launched his own company, OMISO LLC, whose main product is "Miso Balls," which can easily make miso soup by simply pouring hot water into a bowl. Since then, as a "miso evangelist," he has been featured at the "Hollywood Farmers Market," the largest farmers market in LA, and was named one of the 101 Best Restaurants in The L.A. Times ( 2023
