In 1969, we opened our first overseas store in San Francisco; as of December 2016, we have a total of 10 stores in major cities, including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, and Portland. Each store focuses on carrying Japanese-language books and magazines as well as stationery and sundries. In line with its mission of "introducing superior Japanese culture" and "making cultural contributions to local communities," the company also participates in conventions held throughout North America, hosts in-store events, and operates sales offices that serve academic institutions.
