Ending 2024 in Culver City: Reminders for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

*As 2024 winds down and we look forward to celebrating a new year of community here in the Heart of Screenland, we want to remind you of a few important details for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

*

*City Hall Hours*

Culver City City Hall will be open and operating during regular business hours on Tuesday, December 31st. City Hall will close on Wednesday, January 1st, and re-open on Thursday, January 2nd.

The Culver City Senior Center will close at 2 PM on Tuesday and will remain closed on Wednesday. It will reopen with regular hours on Thursday.

Trash and recycling pickup will not occur on New Year's Day and will resume the following day. If your pickup usually occurs on Wednesday, please note that it will happen on Thursday. To schedule your bulky item pickup, please contact the Environmental Programs and Operations Division's customer service at (310) 253-6400.

For unhoused services, please contact 2-1-1 or email Tevis Barnes, Housing and Human Services Director, at tevis.barnes@culvercity.org.

*Culver City Farmers Market*

The Culver City Farmers Market will have reduced hours on Tuesday, open from 1 PM to 5 PM. The certified farmers market, located on Main Street in Downtown Culver City, is sponsored by the City of Culver and provides the surrounding community with farm-fresh produce and locally crafted artisan foods.

*Culver CityBus Schedule & Free Fares*

In observance of the New Year's Eve holiday, Culver CityBus will operate as follows:


* Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024: Regular Service
* Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025: Sunday Schedule

Free fares will be offered from 9 PM to 1 AM on New Year's Eve.

The Customer Service Counter will be closed on Wednesday and will reopen on Thursday. For more information, use the NextCCBus app or visit the Culver CityBus website.

*New Year's Eve Traffic Enforcement*

Before the countdown to 2025 begins, make sure you have a safe travel plan in place.

Culver City Police will be working to keep our roads safe and will be on the lookout for impaired drivers. Driving under the influence is not limited to alcohol; prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, cannabis products, and other drugs may also cause impairment. Before celebrations begin, have a plan, designate a sober driver, or use ride-share services. If you see or suspect an impaired driver, call 9-1-1.

If you’re hosting a gathering, please be mindful not to over-serve your guests and ensure they have a safe way home.
