**NOTICE OF ELECTION*

*NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN* that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Hermosa Beach, California, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 for the following Officers and Measure:

For Two (2) Members of the City Council                                   (At-large) Full term of four (4) years

For One (1) City Treasurer                                                              (At-large) Full term of four (4) years

  

*NOMINATION PERIOD*: The Nomination Period begins on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024. A candidate workshop will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in our Council Chambers.

*EXTENDED NOMINATION FILING PERIOD:* If nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the City are not filed by the deadline of 6 p.m. on August 8, 2024, the nomination period shall be extended and voters shall have until 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, to nominate candidates other than the incumbents on the 88th day before the election, for that incumbent’s elective office. This extension is not applicable to offices for which there is no incumbent eligible to be elected.

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by Section 10229, Elections Code of the State of California. The 11-day Vote Centers (polls) will open on October 26, 2024 and 4-day Vote Centers open on November 2, 2024. On November 5, 2024, Election Day, Vote Centers will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
