Use #TorranceCA so we can find your shots and share them!     WHAT'S NEW Apply for California Competes Tax Credits The Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) is now accepting applications for the California Competes Tax Credit. Business owners are encouraged to apply for this opportunity, as there is a total of at least $164 million in tax credits available. The application deadline is Monday, March 18, at 11:59 p.m. APPLY TODAY Accessible Walkways Installed at the 3290 Temporary Housing Village Team Torrance has been very active! Our General Services Department, in collaboration with the Community Development and City Manager’s Office, has officially completed accessible walkways and ramps throughout the 3290 Temporary Housing Village. SEE MORE Women of Influence Councilmember Bridgett Lewis and Economic Development Manager Fran Fulton were recipients of the 2024 Women of Influence Award from the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. Councilmember Lewis received the Government Excellence Award, and Fran was honored with the Community Catalyst Award. Congratulations to both of them on this well-deserved recognition! SEE MORE FROM THE AWARD CEREMONY WWII Internment Camp Wall Memorial Advisory Committee Are you a Torrance resident interested in serving your community? Applications are now being accepted to serve on the WWII Interment Camp Wall Memorial Advisory Committee! The committee will consult on the design, construction, and implementation of the new wall memorial planned at Columbia Park. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, March 18, 2024, at 5 p.m. APPLY   AS SEEN ON CITICABLE Cohen Veterans Military Network The Cohen Veterans Network hosted a workshop aimed at helping military couples communicate better with each other. The non-profit conducted a survey that showed 77 percent of military service people and their spouses feel very lonely. The workshops try to bridge the gap between any military service person and their family member.
