Parking Permit

We would like to congratulate Karen Beduya for this year's parking permit artwork, recognizing her talent and creativity in designing the winning piece. Please note, the sale of 2025-26 Residential Parking Permits was extend to allow for a exciting upgrade to the City's parking permit application portal. The tentative start date is April 1, 2025 and existing 2024-25 Residential Parking Permits will continue to be valid during this extension period.

Planning Commission Vacancy

The City Clerk’s Office is currently accepting applications to become a Planning Commission member. Applications are available on the City’s website and must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office at cityclerk@hermosabeach.gov by the 6:00 PM deadline on February 12th.  

One Planning Commission position is currently available, with a term set to expire on June 30, 2028. Applicants must be registered to vote in Hermosa Beach.  

2025 Homeless Count

The City of Hermosa Beach will once again participate in the annual Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count. Data collected from this point-in-time count is key to helping us understand the scope and nature of homelessness locally and throughout our region.  

We are currently recruiting volunteers to participate in this year’s count on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 from 8 p.m. to –11 p.m. If you are interested in registering to volunteer use this link [ https://count.lahsa.org/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ].

Civic Facilities Stakeholder Meeting 

On January 22nd, the City hosted a stakeholder meeting on the Civic Facilities Project. This event was one of many community engagement efforts aimed at fostering dialogue and gathering input on the future of Hermosa Beach’s ageing infrastructure. We’d like to thank everyone who participated and look forward to seeing you at our next meeting. Go Bag Ready

The City of Hermosa Beach encourages you to begin assembling your emergency go-bag with essentials such as water, non-perishable food, flashlights, dust masks, and extra batteries. Don’t forget to plan for your pets too. Make sure to pack pet food and water, as well as any medications or special care items they may need. It’s also a good idea to include a leash, collar with ID tags, and a pet carrier in case you need to evacuate quickly. Presidents Day Holiday

In observance of President's Day on Monday, February 17, 2025, City Hall and the Community Center will be closed, reopening on Tuesday, February 18, for in-person services. Trash collection will proceed as scheduled, while street sweeping and parking enforcement along Pacific Coast Highway will be suspended. However, all other parking regulations will remain in effect. No construction work will be allowed on February 17.  

The Police and Public Works Departments will remain available for any issues. For non-emergency matters, residents can contact the City through the non-emergency Police Department phone line at (310) 524-2750.
