L.A. County to Host Marina del Rey for All Celebration

"Event to include community chalk art, visual art workshop, resource fair, symphonic concert featuring video game soundtracks"

Everyone is welcome to enjoy the Marina del Rey for All Celebration, hosted by Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell and the L.A. County Department of Beaches and Harbors, at Burton W. Chace Park in Marina del Rey on Saturday.

From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., attendees can learn to kayak, create their own pop-up cards with The Music Center’s Teaching Artist Joan Harrison, add their artistic flair to a community chalk art mural, and learn about Marina del Rey and L.A. County programs at the resource fair. After 7 p.m., visitors can enjoy an evening of exciting music from an unexpected source—video game soundtracks.

The event is part of the Marina del Rey for All initiative—a community-based effort to make the Marina more inclusive, equitable and accessible.

*Marina del Rey for All is a community-based effort to reimagine Marina del Rey to make it more inclusive, equitable and accessible. The initiative is designed to ensure for future development in the Marina welcomes all residents and visitors, with an increased focus on community-serving amenities and youth-serving programming, as well as sustainable and equitable development and business practices.

*Marina del Rey Summer Symphony and SoCAL Chorale concert featuring video game soundtracks; community chalk art mural; pop-up cards visual art workshop with The Music Center Teaching Artist Joan Harrison; kayaking sessions; resource fair with booths for LA County programs, water sports, Marina del Rey Historical Society.
