*State of the City *

A friendly reminder that all are welcome to join us this evening, Friday, July 12th for Hermosa Beach’s annual State of the City Address presented by Mayor Massey. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Council Chambers and will be followed by a reception at Radici at 7:30 p.m. Entry is free, but we do ask that community members who plan to attend please RSVP to anny@hermosabeach.gov.

*eSCRIBE Adoption *

On Thursday, June 27th, Hermosa Beach officially launched the eSCRIBE platform to better facilitate public engagement and ensure meeting information is easily available to residents.

All agenda information for meetings held after July 1, 2024 will be available on the eScribe platform found on our Agendas, Minutes and Videos page (www.hermosabeach.gov/agenda). Information on how to submit an eComment on eScribe and a link to past agendas is also available on this page. For questions about the new system, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at cityclerk@hermosabeach.gov. We thank everyone for their patience as we launch this new and improved technology.

*Hermosa Beach Gateway Sign at Skechers*

In case you have not already seen it, we would like to share that Skechers officially installed a Hermosa Beach Gateway monument sign on Pacific Coast Highway at Longfellow Avenue. This sign, displaying the City’s new logo, officially welcomes pedestrians and travelers entering the City from the north on Pacific Coast Highway.  

The sign was a condition of approval of the new Skechers campus construction, and it is the product of collaboration between City and Skechers staff to ensure the sign reflects our City’s unique character.

Get Involved

*Candidate Workshop - City Elections*

The City Clerk’s Office will host a Candidate Workshop on Monday, July 15 at 10 am in the Council Chambers for the upcoming November 5, 2024 General Municipal Election for the election of two (2) Members of the City Council and one (1) City Treasurer with four-year terms ending 2028. Prospective candidates and members of the media are invited to attend to learn more about the election process. The nomination period ends on Thursday, August 8 at 6 p.m. Members of the public interested in running for office, but unable to attend the Candidate Workshop, are invited to schedule an appointment with the City Clerk during the nomination period at cityclerk@hermosabeach.gov.

"On July 9th our Hermosa Beach Triathlon athletes took a plunge off the Hermosa Beach Pier. These world-class athletes were invited by the LA County Lifeguard Division and took part in a regularly scheduled training, which included lifesaving and rescuing techniques."
