PRESS RELEASE | *CIVIC-MINDED RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS INVITED TO SUBMIT STATEMENTS OF INTEREST FOR CIVIC FACILITIES COMMUNITY ADVISORY GROUP*

"Submission Deadline is August 1, 2024"

*HERMOSA BEACH, CA – *The City of Hermosa Beach announced today that it is seeking statements of interest from civic-minded residents, community partners and who are interested in serving on Hermosa Beach’s Civic Facilities Community Advisory Group. The City is establishing the informal group in response to the Hermosa Beach City Council’s request for community input on future plans to address the City’s aging facilities to better serve the community.

The informal Civic Facilities Community Advisory Group will draw upon its collective knowledge to help refine project options, consider financing alternatives, review community feedback, assist the City Manager in formulating recommendations to City Council and act as ambassadors to the community at large. 

Members of the informal Civic Facilities Community Advisory Group should be available to participate in at least four or five public meetings, each lasting at least two to three hours in length. The meetings will be conducted in person at City Hall beginning early Fall.

Per the Council’s instructions, the informal Civic Facilities Community Advisory Group will be comprised of 7 to 15 Hermosa Beach residents, community partners, local business owners and civic-minded residents. The City encourages all interested residents, community partners and local business owners to apply. No prior experience or expertise is required to participate. While relevant knowledge in areas pertinent to the potential project, such as land use and development, real estate, project management, project financing, and public-private partnerships is welcome, it is not necessary to be a part of this advisory group.

Hermosa Beach residents and business owners who are interested in serving on the informal Civic Facilities Community Advisory Group may submit their statements of interest to anny@hermosabeach.gov. The deadline is August 1, 2024. In your submission, please include your contact information including phone, address and email. Please also include information about your availability for meetings, qualifications and relevant experience(s) and motivation to serve.
