The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has declared October as LGBTQ+ History Month [ https://file.lacounty.gov/SDSInter/bos/supdocs/4f238aa0-8c3a-48b5-bea2-81f37f02c3a1.pdf?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ] in Los Angeles County. LGBTQ+ History Month is a celebration and observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history. It is intended to encourage honesty and openness about being LGBTQ+ and to develop a sense of belonging and empowerment for the community. Celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month is about uplifting untold and under-told histories of the LGBTQ+ community and their unique contributions to Los Angeles and to our society and pushing back on backwards-facing agendas to erase those histories.

Los Angeles County’s Pathway Home [ https://homeless.lacounty.gov/pathway-home/?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ] program to resolve encampments, including recreational vehicles (RVs), recently placed 58 people into interim housing  – including  families with children – and removed 30 dilapidated RVs being used as makeshift dwellings on the streets of unincorporated East Gardena bordering West Rancho Dominguez. Are you a rental property owner or mobile home park owner in unincorporated Los Angeles County? The 2023/24 registration deadline for the LA County Rent Registry [ https://dcba.lacounty.gov/rentregistry/?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ] has been extended to October 31, 2023! Rent Registry allows property owners to register rental properties online and pay any annual rent registration fees required by the County's Rent Stabilization and Tenant Protections Ordinance [ https://dcba.lacounty.gov/rentstabilizationprogram/?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ] and Mobilehome Rent Stabilization and Mobilehome Owner Protections Ordinance [ https://dcba.lacounty.gov/rentstabilizationprogram/?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ].* Don't forget to register before October 31 to avoid late fees.*

While some rental units or mobile home spaces may be exempt from registration requirements and fees, landlords and mobile home park owners with units or spaces located within unincorporated LA County are required to register and pay fees annually. The 9th annual *I Matter-Girls Empowerment Conference*, where girls with dreams become women with vision will take place on "*Saturday, October 7, 2023*". Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation presents a free event where girls ages 12-18 can join, learn, and hear from powerful women innovators, educators, trailblazers and beyond! Girls will have an opportunity to connect with their peers and speakers to feel connected, inspired, and empowered. This year’s conference will be held at "*East Los Angeles College*". LA County Parks will host workshops, panels, and keynote speakers. Girls are invited to join and participate in all events.
