Set to open in August 2025, the 95,000 sq. ft. campus will serve as the Toy Association's West Coast showroom, creative workspace, and headquarters for their semi-annual toy convention. With industry giants like Mattel, Moose Toys, and Zuru calling El Segundo home, "The Toy Building" positions the city at the forefront of toy ingenuity, where global brands can experiment, scale and inspire generations of consumers.

Development Spotlight:
California Smash Pickleball & Social Club

Bridging sports, entertainment and social connection, California Smash Pickleball & Social Club [ https://www.calismash.com/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ], is set to bring a high-end indoor pickleball experience to Southern California, with its grand unveiling slated for May. Located at Nash and Maple in El Segundo, the transformation of the 30,000 sq. ft. former industrial space has reached a key milestone, as the first of four large-scale murals now brings a vibrant, artistic element to venue's exterior.

El Segundo Empowers the Next Generation of Global Tech Leaders

El Segundo proudly hosted a cohort of 30 Ukrainian entrepreneurs from the Deep Tech Security Accelerator at SpaceWerx [ https://spacewerx.us/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] (the innovation arm of the Space Force), underscoring the city’s role as a global innovation leader and cross-border collaboration.

In partnership with SRI, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Consulate General of Ukraine, the event featured a full day of impactful programming, including four expert-led panels that explored:


* Championing the startup ecosystem at both local and global levels
* Strengthening public safety through innovation
* Insights into U.S. market dynamics and Department of Defense relationships
* Strategic growth opportunities for Ukrainian critical technologies

This event served as a catalyst for meaningful connections between Ukraine’s leading defense tech innovators and El Segundo’s flourishing ecosystem of startups, alongside investors, industry experts and City leaders.
