Manhattan Beach Police Department Opens Applications for 2025 Community Police Academy

MBPD’s 10-week program offers residents and business owners a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement, starting January 9, 2025.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department is inviting adults 18 and older who live, work, or study in the city to join its 2025 Community Police Academy.

Applications are now open for the Manhattan Beach Police Department [ https://www.manhattanbeach.gov/departments/police-department/-fsiteid-1?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery#!/ ]’s 2025 Community Police Academy, a 10-week interactive course designed to educate the community about the operations and responsibilities of law enforcement.

The program begins on *Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025*, with weekly classes held from 6 to 9 p.m. It is open to adults aged 18 and older who live, work, or study in Manhattan Beach. Participants will explore topics such as departmental policies, public safety initiatives, and the role of MBPD officers, gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges and decisions law enforcement faces daily.

The academy is also geared toward individuals interested in volunteering with MBPD. Graduates leave with valuable insights into public safety and a stronger connection to the community.

“This program is an excellent opportunity for residents to engage with law enforcement, understand our mission, and explore how they can contribute to public safety,” said an MBPD representative.

The Community Police Academy underscores MBPD’s commitment to transparency and collaboration, offering participants a meaningful way to engage with the department and contribute to Manhattan Beach’s safety and well-being.
