パーム・スプリングスにあるパーム・スプリングス・エリアル・トラムウェイ（Palm Springs Aerial Tramway）は、最大乗客数80人の回転式ロープウェイで、その大きさは世界最大級とも言われています。コーアチェラ・バレー（Coachella Valley）の麓からサン・ジャシント山州立公園（Mt. San Jacinto State Park）へと登る交通手段として1963年に運行を開始しました。その後2000年9月、世界で一番大きい回転式車両が導入されました。距離にして2.5マイル（約4,000メートル）、標高8,516フィート（約2,600メートル）の頂上までの約10分間、ゆっくりと回転しながら山頂を目指します。ロープウェイの中からは360度広がる渓谷の絶景をご覧になれます。山頂に到着後、頂上にあるPines Cafeでランチを取ります。
※ 11月の山頂は冷え込みが予想されます。必ず防寒着をご持参ください。
■ Andreas Canyon
アンドレアス・キャニオン（Andreas Canyon）には、長さ1.2マイル（約1,900メートル）のループ式トレイルがあります。砂漠に囲まれた環境の中で150種類の植物が根付くこの地は、世界で2番目に大きいカリフォルニア・ファン・パームの生息地としても知られています。トレイルをハイキングする以外にも、バードウォッチング、植物観察、写真撮影、古代岩石で囲まれた入り口付近を散策するだけでも十分に楽しめます。
