This month’s workshop will focus on the various options available for property owners to adjust rents legally under the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO). If you are a landlord, do you know what they are and how you may apply for a rent adjustment for your property?
The workshop will discuss limitations on rent surcharges and programs that may help property owners recover costs for work done on the property, such as Capital Improvements, Seismic Retrofit work, Rehabilitation work, and Primary Renovations. Other cost recovery options, including surcharges to cover the costs of installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and what to do when a property’s operating expenses exceed its rental income, will also be covered.
This workshop is recommended for landlords and their family members who assist or will assist them in managing their properties, tenants, banks and lenders, trustees, servicing companies, listing agents, and anyone contemplating buying or selling rental property in the City of Los Angeles.
The webinar will be a one-hour session held online via Zoom. At the end of the presentation, there will be a Q&A period.
