[Visiting ！] Why don't you join us on Saturday mornings and have a good time with everyone while teaching children about Japanese culture ？.

Nice to meet you ！ We are Terakoya.

We, Terakoya, are a playgroup that aims to pass on Japanese culture to children while having fun.
We are led by mothers and fathers and meet every Saturday at Zenshuji Temple in Little Tokyo for children aged 3-6 years old. We invite outside instructors for karate and calligraphy, and fathers and mothers act as teachers for seasonal crafts and storytelling.
We also have many events such as rice cake pounding in winter and beach parties in summer.

I feel that this is a valuable place to connect with other Japanese mothers who are in the same situation as I was when I was raising my child in the US.
