Thomasville Cal-King Rice Poster Bed

This Thomasville four-poster bed was manufactured in North Carolina.

The wood used is mahogany, a rare and fine furniture wood with beautiful grain.

The four corners of the bed have columns carved with decorative motifs of rice sheaves. This type of bed is called a Rice Poster Bed, a reference to the incredible wealth that Carolina Gold rice grown on lowland plantations brought to the Charleston area in the 18th century.

The columns break down and shorten. Sideboards, headboards, and footboards can also be removed.

Mattresses, box springs, nightstands, and lamps are not included.
