Are you prepared in the event of a disaster? It's important to create a plan so you are prepared in case of emergencies. It's never a bad time to discuss disaster preparedness with family, friends, and neighbors. BE PREPARED Torrance Rose Float Association Rose Vials Looking for a fun and unique way to support the Torrance Rose Float Association? For just $10, you can dedicate a custom rose vial with a personal name or message. These high-priority vials receive extra care and are placed in prominent spots where TV cameras will capture them! Pickleball Courts At the September 24 City Council meeting, the Torrance City Council voted to restore the operating hours of the Sur La Brea pickleball courts to 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. What's Next We're in the process of building eight dedicated pickleball courts at Wilson Park. These courts will be situated near the already existing tennis/paddle tennis/pickleball courts and will hold up to 32 players at a time. They will be fenced in and will have nighttime lighting. An update on this project will be provided to the City Council every month until it's complete. WATCH THE CITY COUNCIL ITEM The CA Welcome Center has some new Torrance Swag - a Leather Patch Trucker Cap! Put a lid on it! Torrance Trucker hats are now available at the California Welcome Center, located on the main level of the Del Amo Fashion Center between Express and UniQlo. Get yours for just $29. The California Welcome Center is open Monday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Small Business Development Center Offering Consulting Hours in Downtown Torrance The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted by El Camino College is dedicated to being the top provider of no-cost, expert consulting, education, and capital assistance for small businesses in the greater South Bay and Los Angeles area. SBDC will hold office hours at the community center at 1215 El Prado on October 4, 2024! Office hours will be Fridays from 2 - 5 p.m. If you are interested in attending these office hours, please call or make an appointment online. Boarding begins 3 hours before game time. The last bus departing for the SoFi Stadium will leave approximately 30 minutes before game time.
