◾️What is Kintsugi? ◾️

It is a restoration technique in which broken parts such as cracks, chips and cracks of vessels are glued by lacquer and decorated with gold.
In Japanese history, earthenware with cracks repaired with lacquer has been found since the Jomon period.
This technique is derived from the spirit of the tea ceremony, which is to accept repaired vessels as they are.
Today, it is becoming popular among people to restore their favorite vessels and use them for a long time, or to enjoy the process and marks of kintsugi as art.



◾️ ？ ◾️

・ This workshop aims to provide a casual experience of kintsugi. This time, we will use "Synthetic Urushi" which is relatively easy to handle. It dries easily and does not cause rashes, so it is an easy experience that takes only about 2 hours. Please note that the materials used differ from natural lacquer and pure gold.
・ Since glue is used to repair cracks, we ask that you refrain from using it in such a way that food touches the kintsugi part or your mouth touches it.
