Shadows for Peace
Shadows for Peace, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was founded in 2015 by Richard Yutaka Fukuhara, an Artist and Social Activist, in partnership with Oral Historian and Filmmaker Robert M. Horsting. This organization’s purpose is to educate people of the world about the devastating effects of atomic/nuclear weapons, through the personal experiences and lessons learned from the atomic bombings on August 6 and August 9, 1945.

Japanese American Cultural & Community Center
Founded in 1971, JACCC is one of the largest ethnic arts and cultural centers of its kind in the United States. Serving as the hub for Japanese and Japanese American arts and culture, and a community gathering place for the diverse voices it inspires—JACCC connects traditional and contemporary; community participants and creative professionals; Southern California and the world beyond.

“Afternoon of Peace: The Hiroshima and Nagasaki Experience”
A Mixed Arts stage production consisting of dance, music, song and projected art, honoring
and remembering the Hibakusha of August 6 and August 9, 1945. This performance is also
dedicated in memory of Richard Yutaka Fukuhara, (08/20/44-12/04/18).
Running time is about 2 hours.
