Jun Asai piano ・ Concert 2024

Jun Asai will give a solo ・ piano ・ recital on July 27, 2024 （ Sat ） at 2pm. This year's concert will feature two piano sonatas written at very different stages of development in each composer's life. The first is Beethoven's Op. 111, the last of 32 sonatas he wrote for solo piano, completed only five years before his death. The second sonata is Chopin's No. 2, which was the first mature sonata he wrote while still in his twenties. The final piece on the program is an arrangement by Agosti of Stravinsky's "Firebird" Suite. Rarely performed on piano, it is drawn from the first ballet Stravinsky wrote for Diaghilev's ballet ・ Lus.

The concert is free but numbered tickets are required. Numbered tickets have sold out at past concerts. This concert is presented with the support of the Davar Church in Pasadena.
