Terakoya （ Japanese Playgroup ） New Members Wanted (Visiting at any time)

Terakoya is a Japanese language playgroup for children aged 3-6. Fathers and mothers play a central role in the activities of this group, teaching children about Japanese culture and Japanese play. We are currently recruiting new members. We are always accepting visitors, so please come and visit us with your children and parents ♬.

Terakoya meets every Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. at the temple （ Zenmokuji ） in Little Tokyo. For 26 years since its establishment, the temple has provided a valuable place for parents and children to play in Japanese and learn about Japan while living in the U.S. Throughout the year, we participate in events such as beach parties, fields days, mochi pounding, and Setsubun, and invite instructors to teach tea ceremony, flower arrangement, taiko drumming, calligraphy, karate, and other activities to expose parents and children to a variety of We also invite instructors to teach tea ceremony, flower arrangement, taiko drumming, calligraphy, karate, and other Japanese cultural activities. As children of different ages participate in activities together, the older children naturally take care of the younger ones, and the younger ones imitate the older ones, thereby deepening the bond between them.
