Private bedroom in Santa Monica a few blocks from the beach!

Note: I am not Japanese or know Japanese. My old roommate told me about this site, and I have had good leads from here.

Private bedroom available in a 3 bed and 1.5-bathroom apartment in Santa Monica. You would get a 125 square foot private 1bedroom with shared bathroom. It features a closet with mirrored doors, hardwood floors, and a huge window! The room can come with a desk and chair or come unfurnished. There is a full-sized kitchen and living room; they are both furnished.

The apartment is in an amazing location. Only an 8-minute walk from the beach and close to Downtown Santa Monica and Main St; lots of restaurants/stores around the area. ~12-minute walk to Expo Line metro stop. 1 mile from Santa Monica College. 96 Walk Score. Ideal roommate is fully employed or a student and has good credit.

Current roommates are one female and one male in their 20’s. Male works from home. Female works locally in Santa Monica. We are not neat freaks by any imagination, especially since there are cats in the apartment, but we keep the place organized and not gross either. We have a chore chart to split chores evenly, and we tend to help each other out with cleaning. Open to either male or female roommates and, but toilet will be shared with the female roommate and shower with both roommates (only one shower in apartment). Room available to show in person or video call!

Rent: $950/month. Security deposit: $950. $250 subtenant fee to be added to the lease. $2,150 total due for move-in. This is a rent-controlled unit!

Lease terms: Month-to-month lease. However, preference is someone who plans to stay a while, at least 6 months. There is a $50 application fee to the property management, and you would be put on the official lease as a subtenant. Must have good credit (min 650 credit score).

Move-in date: 06/01/24.

Utilities: Water and trash included. Electricity, gas, and internet we pay for, usually around $100/month per person.

Parking: Permit street parking only. There is lots of street parking available because it is permit only, and street parking permits are around $40 for an entire year.

Other: Laundry room on-site. Gated apartment complex. No AC: you rarely need it here, so fans are used in the few weeks of heat. No smokers.

Pets: Must be okay with cats! No other pets are allowed as two cats are living in the apartment already.
