What is Kintsugi ? -------------------------------------------
Ceramics It is a technique of repairing chips and cracks in porcelain by gluing them with gold.
It was already discovered in Japan in the Jomon period.
The "acceptance of imperfection" that kintsugi teaches derives from the philosophy of the tea ceremony, which finds beauty in mending what was once broken.
Kintsugi is now gaining popularity for mending and reviving beloved objects. The process of kintsugi is fun and unique.
What is a Kintsugi Workshop ?
The kintsugi technique is demonstrated in an easy to understand manner.
The instructor will give advice to each person to create a piece of work.
This workshop introduces a simple kintsugi technique and provides an opportunity to enjoy it. Synthetic resin is used instead of natural resin or pure gold. It dries quickly and allows you to complete a piece in a one-day workshop. Synthetic resin dries quickly and is hypoallergenic. However, since adhesives are used, please be careful not to accidentally ingest ・ or ingest by mistake. Use at your own discretion. We assume no responsibility.
This method is suitable for decorative and non-food ceramics.
Repaired pottery is not suitable for use in dishwashers, microwave ovens, ovens or stoves.
In addition to the plates, materials are included in the workshop. If you would like to experience this at home, please purchase a kit.
Enjoy your one-of-a-kind creation that day !
